At Vinitaly, inside Casa Coldiretti, “Ecolog” was presented, the innovative project that offers sustainable tools for the wine supply chain, from mobility with reduced environmental and landscape impact to systems optimized for e-commerce. A project born and created by Coldiretti Cuneo and the Consortium for the protection of Barolo Barbaresco Alba Langhe and Dogliani which, having successfully completed the experimental phase on the Langa hills, consolidates and expands its proposal in the name of wine tourism.
There are two innovative Ecolog solutions which translate into an increase in competitiveness for wineries: the first, “Ecolog Trade”, is aimed at B2B and concerns the transport of wine with small low-emission vehicles intended for operators in the sector, the second , “Ecolog Consumer”, facilitates national and international direct sales (B2C) following visits to the winery and through e-commerce.
“After ‘The Green Experience’, Coldiretti Cuneo’s project for a rethought and sustainable viticulture that we presented at the 52nd edition of Vinitaly, we return to the stage of the most prestigious international wine event to present another far-sighted project born on our hills, which takes up the challenges of the cellars on UNESCO land and makes them growth opportunities. A project that contributes not only to the environmental sustainability but also to the economic sustainability of wineries, ”comments Roberto Moncalvo, Coldiretti Piemonte President, Confederal delegate of Cuneo Coldiretti.
“The advantages for the wineries that join Ecolog – highlights Matteo Ascheri, President of the Consortium for the protection of Barolo Barbaresco Alba Langhe and Dogliani – are tangible. In addition to being able to show a important business card that attests to their commitment to the environment and sustainable mobility, companies speed up booking and logistics operations and have the opportunity to transform wine tourism visits into sales”.
The strength of the project, created with the contributions of the CRC Foundation for the Trade service and of the Cuneo Chamber of Commerce for the Consumer service, lies in its broad sharing: “In addition to inspiring the interest of the wineries – explains the Director of Coldiretti Cuneo Fabiano Porcu – Ecolog immediately received the support of the Association of Vineyard Landscapes of Langhe Roero and Monferrato UNESCO World Heritage Site and of the Union of Municipalities ‘Colline di Langa and Barolo’, confirming the positive impact that the project will have on the territory, reducing the congestion of heavy vehicles on the roads of the small municipalities of the UNESCO area and making this area more accessible for those who live it every day and for those who discover it as wine tourists“.
Ecolog transport and distribution logistics, which makes use of operational partners such as Sandri and Santi Trasporti e Way To Go, is interconnected to cutting-edge IT platforms managed by Tesisquare and Direct From Italy.
“We have created an IT platform – spiega Elio Becchis, manager of Tesisquare – where wineries can conveniently manage orders, optimize collections in the cellar and organize groupage”. “With our platform – adds Denis Andolfo, founder of Direct From Italy – wineries can manage and monitor sales to private customers and automatically calculate the expected taxes, overcoming the complex formalities that currently slow down remote selling and e-commerce”.
“Coldiretti is a pioneer in the promotion of sustainable viticulture and for years has been at the forefront in designing projects of care and attention to the environment and the landscape, from the vineyard to the cellar, with The Green Experience and, today, with Ecolog, projects that they create synergy and economy in the area in line with the dictates of the green revolution and the ecological transition, essential guidelines for the future” declared to Vinitaly the National manager of the wine sector of Coldiretti Domenico Bosco.
